Great software but screen fogs up

This is the state of the art in terms of software and functionality- The GPS, radar and fishfinder are all linked on the same screen. My radar was defective and has been sent back twice to Northstar- I'm looking forward to seeing how it works. The GPS and fishfinder are great while the screen is clear.

While it's neat and clean to have all functions on the same screen, unfortunately the screen fogs up inside the glass, so you have trouble seeing the display and can't get rid of the fog. I previously owned a 951 black and white GPS, which had the same problem, and the company was pretty unhelpful. The owner of my boatyard (in Nantucket) has installed one other 6000i this year and says it has the same problem. This problem is apparently unique to Northstar, as other manufacturers seal their units.
