No hair, and no blood!

by   Guildencrantz ,  Jan 14, 2003
Pros: Comfort level adjustment. Spring loaded head.
Cons: Still not a blade shave, but a LOT more comfortable.
The Bottom Line: With very basic controls this is the bottom of the Spectra line. However the shave is just as good, and better than most in the business.
Review: I have detested blade razors for years. I have always ripped my face to shreds, or broken out. If I wasn't covered with blood there was a rash or a million zits. It was a lousy site. All through high school and college I could just put off shaving....

Worth the extra money vs. the Quadra/7000 Series Models??

by   wmarshallma ,  May 18, 2004
Pros: Excellent shave: close and painless.
Cons: Color/finish might have been done a little better.
The Bottom Line: Norelco Spectra is probably the best rotary shaver on the market. But buy the Quadra/7000 series if you're looking to save $30 or $40.
Review: Definitely an excellent shaver, but I don't know that it has enough superior features over Norelco's 7000 series "Quadra" models to warrant paying so much more for it. The differences between the two are as follows: (1) The Spectra system has a dial ...

a most strange review of a most incredible electric shaver

by   flash_nitrate ,  Jan 6, 2004
Pros: Incredibly close shave. To me nothing else matters.
Cons: At $118 a bit more than I'd LIKE to have spent.
The Bottom Line: Ditch the blades, buy the Spectra. Like I said, this is my intro into the electric shaver world but oh what an intro it is .. life's good.
Review: Best thing since spam .. lite. Based on recommendations here at epinions I reluctantly walked into the store with $118 (U.S.), walked out with a new toy, and a wallet $118 lighter :( A little background .. I've never had an electric razor. It's ...

Finally, a good electric razor

by   javasutra ,  Jan 3, 2003
Pros: Very quiet, very comfortable
Cons: NiCd battery will deteriorate like all other NiCd powered devices.
The Bottom Line: This razor puts an end to electric razor compromizes. It will be hard to improve on this one.
Review: I've been through several Norelcos and a Braun and have never been fully satisfied with an electric razor, until now. Unfortunately, blade razors make my face break out. I usually choose an inferior electric shave over the irritation of a blade.

Former wet shaver - now converted

by   stradey ,  Aug 23, 2003
Pros: great shape & feel
Cons: heads sometimes pop off when razor shaken shaken
The Bottom Line: Ease of use after 45 years of wet shaves. Packs easily. Great for travelling. Excellent battery life if you let it discharge. Very quick recharge.Made life a bit easier
Review: I was forced to use an electric razor after surgery. The prospect did not enthrall me but my wife d ...

The Best Electric Shaver

by   desertcom1 ,  Jun 19, 2004
Pros: Very fast close smooth shave. Rechargeable cord/cordless. Can rinse with water. Very quite.
Cons: A little pricey
Review: In my opinion one of the best electric shavers out there. I cut four days of beard growth in less than a minute without any blood or hair pulling. It can also be rinsed with water. Not to mention it's cordless or it can be used with the cord. Small ...

The best electric shave out there

by   hatetoshave ,  Jun 3, 2003
Pros: Quality, best shave, durable
Cons: Curved shape likes to roll, price
The Bottom Line: If you are interested in electrics then spend the money, get the best. The spectra pushes the performance and shave quality envelope.
Review: The flashy Norelco ads finally got to me and I ended up purchasing a new Norelco Spectra. Believe me, I had very high expectations and if this razor didn’t give me the best shave ever then it was going back to the store for a full refund.

fun to use and smooth

by   doctheo ,  Aug 19, 2004
Pros: Close shave especially with pre-electric lotion. Quick and smooth.
Cons: Top flys off if you snap open. Needs solid attached triple head unit.
The Bottom Line: Buy this unit and avoid the more expensive models due to faulty reviews on the electronics.
Review: After years of Braun, I decided to try the latest Norelco with doubt in my mind. The Braun left razor burn and I was disappointed, so I gave the Braum away and purchased the 8825xl: the basic model. The fancier models recieved bad reviews on the ...

Sensitive face, good shave

by   jesuschr1st ,  Aug 4, 2005
Pros: Sensitivity setting High quality Easy maintenance
Cons: I would like to see this shaver for $59.99 on sale somewhere.
Review: I have been using the shaver now for a month. Prior to that, I haven't been shaving really. Ever since high school, I have had a hard time shaving due to extremely sensitive skin. For the past 15 years or so, I shaved with a beard trimmer, because ...

A good shaver but I had problems

by   mferris ,  Oct 1, 2006
Pros: Good shaver, easy to clean, quick charging, clock in base.
Cons: Touchy electronics not stable on the previous unit; the new one, not so.
Review: This is a nice little shaver. Charges quickly, shaves well, has a clock in the base, it has everything you would want BUT I've had an odd problem with mine. After using it for a few months it started shutting off part way through a shave. I thought ...
