Philips 8170XLCC Electric Shaver

I have owned Norelco razors as long as I have been shaving. That has been for over thirty years. In that time I have had 3 razors. This last one that I had, I lost when I went on a trip. There are a lot of features on this one such as three shaving heads, each of the heads are free floating, there is a button to release the heads and a protective head cap. There also is a bigger chamber for catching more loose hair. It also comes equipped with a very nice electronic turn on button, when you push this button, 5 led lights light up which indicates how much charge is left. The lower number of lights the less charge you have. And after a few hours all the lights will go out. At the bottom of the unit a red light will go on when your battery is low. A very nice extra feature on this razor is the cleaning indicator light and the head replacement light. The older models do not have this. On the back of the razor there is a spring loaded release trimmer. This feature comes in handy when trimming your mustache. Included in this pack is a storage and travel pouch. The problem with this travel pouch is that you cannot carry the charger with it. You really can't put anything else inside the pouch. There is no room for anything.

You can shave with or without the cord, just remember to not leave it plugged in unless it needs a charge. If you do leave it plugged in you could possibly shorten the life of the battery. As to the jet cleaning I don't really care for it. I don't see the purpose of it. I usually just use the little brush and clean it out. It looks like a way to charge a little more, and get people to buy the cleaning solution for the jet cleaning. Also it is very hard to travel with this big base full of cleaning solution. On a positive note, it is almost weightless and very durable. I have dropped it and did no damage to it. Also it is virtually quiet and smooth.

This unit comes with a FULL two year warranty. They agree to fix it free of charge parts and labor included. That is one heck of a warranty. I would highly recommend this razor to all of my friends. This is not the least inexpensive but I think this razor does a very good job. This gives a nice smooth cut.
