Going back to Mach3, returning this product

I started my shaving life with a norelco in 1992. When my beard got too thick after a few years, I switched to Mach3 disposables. 10 years later, my beard now grows too fast to only shave every other day. So I decided I would try an electric, hoping the technology had improved. No such luck.

At best, I'm left with a five o'clock shadow and worse razor burn then ever with a blade. It left nearly every hair on my face pluckable with tweezers. Several hairs were not even touched after literally dozens of passes with the shaver. Trying to get up close to the edges of my goatee was painful as it pulled at the hair. It left horrible razor bumps along my neck line. It would not glide across my face if I shaved after showering, so I tried shaving before showering which did help it move across my face, but not with the quality of the shave.

Following the instructions, I charged the shaver before my first use, and let it fully charge without leaving it plugged in to overcharge. The battery ran out after only 5 days of use. At least I could plug it in while finishing my shave.

The ergonomics of the shaver aren't too bad while using it, but it is prone to rolling over or getting bumped off the counter when leaving it out to air dry after washing it off.

Electric shavers are still just as noisy as they were before. I will gladly take the sound of running water any day over the loud whirring, grinding sound this thing makes.

Bottom line: there are probably some people just not made to use these things, and I am one them. After giving this product a fair run of 3 weeks as indicated in the instructions, I immediately have gone back to Mach3 without any "adjustment" period.
