Small and Stylish

I recently switched cellular providers and needed to purchase a new cell phone. I hadn't done really any research on phones so I was in the dark on which phones were good buys. I talked to the salesman in the store and he recommended the Nokia 5310. I took his word for it and, overall, I'm pleased that I did.

The first thing you notice about the 5310 is it's size and style. It has a very sleek, stylish look and is small enough to fit in your pocket without being uncomfortable in the least. The 2-inch LCD display is a great size and very clear. The only pitfall of the style for me is the keypad. It is a bit too small for my taste. If you are an avid texter with large fingers (such as myself) the keypad may give you a bit of grief at first, but eventually i got used to it.

Along with looking good this phone has many great features. Among my favorites are FM radio, mp3 player, 2 megapixel camera, and bluetooth compatibility. I haven't had much experience with mp3 phones, but this one is very ease to use and has great playback. It connects directly to the computer so file transfer is easy, and if you have a SanDisk card in the phone (mine came with one) there is plenty of memory to store music and pictures.

A couple things I have noticed about the phone that are a bit annoying include some lag on the camera, and not the best reception ever. When taking pictures the screen is slow to show the image you are pointed at, and once you push the button to take the picture, the phone has a bit of a lag to actually record the image. That being said, it does take some pretty good pictures. The reception issue isn't a big problem if you live in an area with good tower coverage, but if you are in a more remote area you may have reception problems.
