Long Term Review of 2006 Nissan Altima SE-R

by   whupwhup ,  Jun 13, 2009
Pros: Unique aggressive look, wonderful exhaust, crisp handling, tons of leg room, reliable, priced right.
Cons: FWD, turning radius is bad, no bluetooth/ipod in stereo, no seat memory. MPG.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this car based on price, performance, appearance, legroom and comfort.
Review: After my 3rd child was born i traded in my 2004 Infiniti G35 6MT Coupe for a brand new 2006 Nissan Altima SE-R. Idecided I needed more space for not only my kids but also my clients so I was shopping for a 4 door sports car. I assumed I would be ...

2006 Altima Test Drive

by   jamesp81 ,  May 16, 2006
Pros: very good acceleration (V6), comfort, decent handling, practical and fun, attractive styling
Cons: styling not quite sporty enough for my taste, sedate handling, medium throws in manual transmission
The Bottom Line: I strongly recommend the Altima in the V6. It's an outstanding choice for those who want both practicality and fun. The V6 power will rock your face off.
Review: I had a very pleasant test drive of two different trims of the Nissam Altima: the 2.5S with a manual and the 3.5S with an automatic w/manual mode. First, the good points of both vehicles. The Altima is much more comfortable than my Sentra, and both ...

2006 Altima SE-R is great

by   dragon06 ,  May 27, 2006
Pros: Large Space, Great Styling, Nice Power, Bose Sound System, Very Comfortable Ride
Cons: Mileage, Steering too responsive at hard acceleration.
The Bottom Line: A fine car worth considering in the mid-size range.
Review: When it came to moving up in car size from a Toyota Corolla LE (2003 Model) we looked at the Camry, Accord and the Altima. The Corolla had served us well and we had also previously owned a 1995 Sentra which was unbelievably reliable. Amongst the three ...

An overall experience with my Altima

by   lanewid ,  Mar 29, 2006
Pros: Peppy, gas mileage, SPACIOUS, sporty, SPACIOUS, fun to drive
Cons: Headrests were uncomfortable, doors don't stay open very well
The Bottom Line: My only question: Is it worth spending $18,000 or so on a base model 4 cylinder when you can get an American Made 6cylinder (Malibu) for the same price?
Review: This past weekend, I rented a 2006 Altima 2.5 to make a trip from Memphis to Nashville. A lot of this trip was interstate miles, but I got a real feel for the car throughout the weekend. When I got the car, it had 45 miles on it. How great is it ...

Altima 3.5SL - Exceeding Expectations

by   aseider ,  May 30, 2006
Pros: Standard equipment, build quality, handling dynamics, powerful engine, fun to drive, attractive looks, value.
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning!
The Bottom Line: Underrated Altima 3.5SL is a solid product and excellent value for money even when compared with newer competition. It is far better than expected.
Review: As an ex-Lexus and Toyota customer, now that Toyota’s bullet-proof reliability is showing holes in the Kevlar, I recently purchased a loaded Altima 3.5SL. I just couldn't warm up to the somewhat quirky Maxima. The 3.5SL is probably the finest car I’ ...

The best damn car out

by   wj2003 ,  Sep 9, 2007
Pros: Speed, Space, Looks, Dependable,
Cons: None
Review: This car is simply outstanding. There is no other car that can compare. The Altima has some hefty ponies that gets this car moving really fast despite its size. Looks are definitely deceiving. The tiptronic is simply amazing. The v6 is very responsive ...

The Overlooked Cousin: Nissan Combines Japanese Reliability With French Flair

by   smiles33 ,  Aug 21, 2008
Pros: * Powerful V6 with decent fuel efficiency
* Roomy and smooth ride
Cons: * Limited headroom
* Driving is not as sharp/controlled
The Bottom Line: Great reliability with a slight bonus above its Japanese competitors due to more aggressive styling. However, it still can't compare to the European driving experience.
Review: In this day and age, when fuel efficiency is so closely watched, I wouldn't be surprised if more people take a closer look at Nissan sedans as folks pass by the large SUVs and other gas guzzlers. Given my experience over the past four months driving the ...

Performance review

by   rukuss0167 ,  Jun 19, 2006
Pros: OVERSTEER-cornering, smooth tranny, quiet ride, fast
Cons: Extremely loose, unresponsive steering wheel, SEATS TOO HIGH
The Bottom Line: Great handling, 2.5 lacks power, 3.5v6 is a powerhouse engine, feels like a minivan, handles like a racecar.
Review: I sell infinity and nissans, so i get to drive everything on a daily to weekly basis, heres my performance oriented review of the Nissan Altima 3.5 and 2.5 "oh.... and remember, oversteer is a good thing" Handling The altima is a very ...

2006 Nissan Altima 2.5s

by   jhamil7 ,  Mar 20, 2008
Pros: fuel efficiency, looks, room, price
Cons: materials, quietness
The Bottom Line: A very solid fuel efficient family sedan that can compete with the best of them.
Review: I have been very pleased with my Altima over the past couple years. I purchased it in February 2006. I have the 2.5s version with an automatic transmission. I also had a 2003 Altima 2.5sl which I loved. The exterior of the car was freshned up for ...

Great car

by   aelse ,  Oct 27, 2006
Pros: Styling, interior features, mpg.
Cons: Head rest, arm rest, redesign in 07?
Review: Just got my 2006 Nissan Altima with the Special Edition package. Considered a Honda but it was too expensive. Traded in a reliable but ugly 2002 Malibu that was aging quickly. It is a 4cyl. with good pep. The interior is great, mine is black interior ...
