Pros: Reliable, sporty, fun to drive, high off the ground (which is fun too!).

Cons: Front seat/door clearance is very narrow for someone who is over 6 feet tall.

I bought my 2003 XTerra new from a dealership about a year ago. I currently have 11,000 miles on it and have not had any trouble so far. It has been dependable and relatively comfortable. So far I have been pleased and recommend the SUV to my friends and acquaintances. The only real problem is that I am 6'3" and the distance between the driver's seat and the door is very narrow, preventing me from spreading my legs comfortably. It took me a while to get used to it.
