Style and Quality Champion

I just bought my 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE a week ago but I have some comments about the Maxima in general and the 2003 in particular. Nothing beats Japenese quality, fit and finish on their automobiles and no where is this more evident than in the 2003 Nissan Maxima. 2003 is the last year that the Maxima was produced in Japan and newer models, 2004 forward are produced in Smyrna Tenn. There's just something about this car when you sit in the drivers seat that shows this car was put together right. The engine fires up with just a touch of the starter and is smooth and quite. Doors on this vehicle close and latch effortlessly and the transmission shifts through the gears smoothly.

I choose the 2003 Max even though I could have had a 2004 or even a new 2005. I dont like the body style of the newest generation and the narrow skylight that extends to the rear seats seems odd. In addition, the interior seems plain and rather cold looking. The 2004's gauges are smaller and has a bolt-on look I dont care for. So getting a 2003 or 2002 with low miles was what I was looking for. I finally picked out my 2003 GLE which is the luxury version of the Maxima with all the bells and whistles. It has leather interior, heated seats and steering wheel, power seats, climate control and the in-dash 6 cd changer. My GLE had 37000 miles on it and was just under 2 years old. The car seems factory fresh and the interior is spotless while the body is perfect.

People write that the GLE leans intro curves with some body roll. I havent noticed that probably because I take the corners rather slow. The steering seems responsive though, so I have no complaints. Maxima is famous for acceleration and my GLE is no exception, this car goes like a raped ape.
