Maxima Lover
Pros:
Price, ENGINE, Looks, Options, Ergonomics (except for side mirror controls)
Cons:
Local Service/Dealers, Resale Value, Sub-woofer Mounting
The Bottom Line:
Definte Recommendation, specially now that this car is 1/2 the new price and gets VERY good marks on every category!

Author's Review
Used extensive computer/network research before buying this car. I shopped with four local dealers, got great prices but not the right color (sunlit sand) and I truly did not like dealing with them. Their professionalism was out of a used car movie. I ended-up buying the car from a dealer in CT (Bob Sharp Nissan - the guys that sponsor Paul Newman's racing) that my family has purchased cars from for over 20 years. They gave me a good price (about $500 more than my best local price) and great customer satisfaction. BUT, Now I have the trouble with dealing with the crummy local dealers for any services. This has already proven to be very tiring.
Wife and I decided on the loaded (except navigation) 6-speed SE. It is great to have a wife that likes manual transmissions. We test drove the new 3.5 Altima, but was not impressed after the drive. The Maxima was much more refined and the same price. I have read that the car has strong pulling in the steering when accelerating - IGNORE THOSE REVIEWERS. This is the best front wheel drive damping I have seen. The front wheel drive is a strong selling point for our family - we live in the snow belt and need the traction 5 months of the year. It does very good in the snow!
We have now had the car over 2 1/2 years and have so little to complain about... but here you go:
-Bass speaker (Bose) on rear dash vibrates when playing deep bass.
-uhhhmmmmm, guess that is it!
Things I like, well the list is way to big, but here are a few top items:
-A loaded large sedan (heated leather, power everything, etc.) for $28k!!!
-Much bigger than my brothers BMW 330, and even a little faster (I put in some decent aftermarket inlet and exhaust products) for sub 6 seconds runs to 60mph
-My wife loves the heated steering wheel on the cold morning drives.
Parting Words, we just went back to a local dealer to consider trading it in for a new Nissan vehicle. The best trade-in price from them was $15,000... that is a lot of depreciation for 2.5 years on the Nissan flagship model. Makes me want to consider a Lexus/Toyota, BMW or Acura/Honda for my next vehicle.
