Issues at just over 30,000 miles

Date of Review:  May 11, 2006
Review: I fell in love with the newer body style when I first saw it on the road. I'm running into big issues, however, just as my warranty has expired. Of note:

*I had to replace the battery at 30k miles.

*There is a strange...

2003 Nissan Altima is a great investment for a midsize car

Date of Review:  May 15, 2006
The Bottom Line: Spend a litte more money and it'll be worth it in the long run.
Review: This review is of my wife's 2003 Nissan Altima. It is the 2.5 S model with an automatic transmission, four doors, and a 2.5 Liter 4 Cylinder engine. It is the Polished Pewter color, which is gold/gray with a metallic tinge. The interior is charcoal...

Powerful and roomy

Date of Review:  Nov 8, 2003
The Bottom Line: I recommend for the guy who needs a sporty car but has a family.
Review: I purchased my 2003 Altima and have had it for 14 months now. I put a lot of miles on it and not all of them are highway. I have been very satified with the car on virtually every aspect. The powerful V-6 3.5 engine is almost too strong for a front...

Tires are awful on this car

Date of Review:  Jan 6, 2004
The Bottom Line: Do not buy the car!
Review: I got this car in Mar03 and was happy with it as it offered more interior room and more power than my previous VW Golf 94. The exterior look was amazing and the handling of the car was OK for an old geezer like myself (31 years old).

Great sport sedan with less then average reliability

Date of Review:  Oct 2, 2007
Review: I've had this car for 4 years now and I have put on 50,000 miles. While it has never left me on the side of the road once, there have been a lot of minor things break. Most of these items have been fixed under warranty.

-Front strut...

The perfect soccer mom transport

Date of Review:  Jan 19, 2003
The Bottom Line: Buy it! More personality than Camry or Accord!
Review: I am the mom of a 3.5 year old, and this car has absolutely been my salvation! I have the 4 cylinder (which, incidentally, is enough HP to get a speeding ticket or two!), so I get a week's worth of driving from about 10 or 15 dollars in gas. I can...

The Altima, Nissan's Hope for a Bright Future.

Date of Review:  Oct 17, 2002
The Bottom Line: The Nissan Altima is an excellent car. It will give you a very comfortable ride on the highway and an easy drive around town.

Nissan Altima SE, 2003

The past decade has been tough for this once very profitable car manufacturer. The years when Nissan (then called Datsun) were a certain success are gone...

Avoid buying the Altima - it's a LEMON!

Date of Review:  Jul 13, 2006
The Bottom Line: Would persuade anyone to avoid this model like the plague. And the automaker, too. They do not stand behind their products - they remind me of US automakers...
Review: Fell in love with the exterior styling of this car as soon as I saw the first one in summer 2002. Bought a used 2002 - didn't think there was anything curious about buying a used car in the same year of its manufacture... - and then traded it in the...

One year later

Date of Review:  Jul 15, 2003
The Bottom Line: Buy it! Nissan has good financing to clear out the 03's now too!
Review: My Alty just had her first birthday (16K miles). Not one problem that brought me back to the dealer-unlike my wife's Ford Escape that has been in for four recalls...
The V6 is very nimble, I often find myself victorious in the stoplight...

A powerful, stylish... gas hog

Date of Review:  Apr 12, 2004
The Bottom Line: A strong, stylish competition to the anonymous Camry/Accord/Century, the Altima needs the 5th gear and a better interior. It is the best available rental midsize sedan available.
Review: Experience ... and disclaimer: I do not owe an Altima; it was a 2-week business rental.

Features

I was given a 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5SL by Hertz. It is a top 4-cylinder Altima model; it comes with automatic transmission, like all...
