Author's Review
I just a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE yesterday after much research
and anticipation. I knew the Maxima was THE ONE before
I ever even drove it. Who can resist the 222-horsepower
V6 engine and it's sleek design? The new design is gorgeous
and the SE is extremely sporty for a midsize 4 door sedan.
I starting looking at the Maxima's after I heard tons of
great comments about them from friends. I also read many
of the great Epinion reviews on the Maxima and I knew
it was the car for me. Maxima is rated very high on
value and safety. That was important to me along with
the attractiveness of the vehicle.
I heard that the Maxima went from 0-60 in 6.7 seconds. I
didn't believe it. How can a non-luxury sedan have so
much power? Well, let me tell you.. the 6.7 second rating
is true. This car flys. It's the kind of car where you
think you are going 45mph but you are truly going 70.
The handling on the Maxima is extremely smooth and controlled.
Going around corners and every turn feels stable and secure.
The car is very roomy inside and it is very obvious that they
added trunk room (2.9 cubic-feet more) on the new models.
The sedan can easily hold 5 large people in comfort.
I purchased the SE which standard features such as: anti-lock
brakes, rear spoiler, halogen fog lights, 16" alloy wheels,
cruise control, power windows/locks, CD player, rear
defroster, remote keyless entry, auto on/off headlights,
dual air bags, ignition immobilizer, tachometer, leather
wrapped steering wheel, 60/40 split rear seat, and
many more. You can also choose additional package options.
The car buying experience at my local Nissan dealer was
very pleasant. They were willing to haggle with the price
and my car was reduced over $3000 off the sticker price.
They also gave me a very fair deal on my trade-in.
I recommend the Nissan Maxima to anyone who loves not only
speed, but comfort and reliability in an automobile.
