Maximum go for not much dough: Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo

by   reality_check ,  Oct 14, 1999
Pros: Ohmygawd fast, inexpensive, attractive, reliable, low running costs (except for speeding tickets) great for those 600+ mile days on the interstate, good ergonomics especially for taller drivers. Parts & service widely available
Cons: No tri-pointed star or whirling propeller badges, not for the faint of heart, moderate oversteer, skittish in rain/snow/ice, exterior trim parts fade/lose their anodization, low valences hit on driveways, poor rear & side visibility
Review: If you’re tired of hearing people gush about wimpy, overpriced euro poseuer-mobiles like the M-B SLK, BMW Z3/M3 and Porsche Boxster as being true performance cars, there is a refreshing– and much cheaper– alternative. From 1990-96, Nissan made one of...

Used Sports Car Bargain of a Lifetime

by   jhelms ,  Jun 8, 2000
Pros: Fast, can be made faster easily, great looks
Cons: Repairs can be somewhat expensive
Review: When I graduated college and slid into a 'real' job, I decided I wanted a 'real' sports car. In my searching, I couldn't believe the number of clean 300Z Twin Turbos that were on the market. I ended up getting a pristine (albeit high mileage) model...

Cons: oil mainance, they dont make them anymore
Review:
Strengths: Turbocharged engine is incredible. Excellent handling due to HICAS 4-wheel steering and adjustable suspension stiffness. Looks are top notch. The 2-seater coupe model's interior is surprisingly comfortable. More reliable than...

The most bang for the buck you can ever own!

by   n84434 ,  Dec 28, 2006
Pros: Timeless style. Still looks great after 12 years! Reliable engine and interior is well built.
Cons: Many, Many maintenance concerns with these cars!
Review: I own a 1994 300ZX N/A with 157,000 miles on it. I've owned it a little less that 2 years and when I bought it, it was a basket case. The previous owner had no experience working on cars, so this was his test bed, unfortunetly. In the last 2 years I've ...

'94 N/A 300ZX a great car for the wife.

by   dus10 ,  Dec 5, 2002
Pros: Timeless beauty, interior design, reliability, longevity, good engine.
Cons: Brake performance, leather interior longevity.
The Bottom Line: Great cars, good looks, performance and reliability.
Review: My wife was looking to buy a car that had more power than her Saturn SC2, and was reliable, and looked good, etc. I didn't want to get her anything that was too powerful, I'd seen her get a little loose in my Rx-7 a few times when the turbo's kicked in....

300z Day

by   Jigga69 ,  Jan 25, 2000
Pros: Stillen is the place to go for 300z upgrades.
Cons: but the prices at Stillen might be a little up there just as is the car.
Review: It was Z-day literally. Stillen recently held it's 300z Day and Performance sale at it's Costa Mesa facility. Convoys of Z cars from as far ways as Northern California made the trip to join other Z enthusiasts in a day of festivities that included some...
