Author's Review
This car is the best car I could hope for! After purchasing mine for 200 dollars with engine problems, I fixed it up and it runs smooth like butter. I was glad for this opportunity, and I got to know my car a lot better. Here's some helpful items that I have found for this car.
Engine
The engine runs and runs and runs and does not stop! Equipped with a 3.0 DOHC V-6, this beast turns out 190 hp at around 6500 rpm. If you don't know what that means, basically it's a sports car. While I was digging around inside the engine fixing a cracked valve and blown head gasket, I was purely amazed by one thing, Nissan has designed this engine to do only one thing, perform at excellent levels.
Gas Mileage
Now I know what all you sport car fans are thinking; if this is a sports car then gas is going to be EXPENSIVE. WRONG! This car even though made in the early 1990's can get up to 30 mpg highway. I use it for all of my road trips and I have been very pleased with it's performance, and that's coming from a poor college student. Now if you decide to rev it up past 4000 rpm, then it starts a fuel air bypass injection. You're going to be looking at about 8 mpg if you do that.
Gadgets Gadgets Gadgets!
Now this car not only has a good engine, we are talking about the Special Edition Nissan Maxima. (SE) The SE comes with many more packages and gadgets than say the GXE does. Example, BOSE sound system, sun roof, power windows, power locks, security system, 15 1/2 inch wheels, luxury interior, pretty much everything that a young college guy likes.
Handling Steering and Suspension
Now I know there are a lot of car people out there, and one of the best feelings in the world is to get behind a wheel of a car that goes fast and you can't feel it. I've topped this car out at 135 mph, and I can tell you I didn't feel like I was going that fast. The ride was amazingly smooth. The car showed no signs of over performing, and the steering wheel was not jerky or rough. I thank the Japanese for equipping this thing with amazing suspension.
I have only been driving my car around for about a year now, but I can tell you its one great ride.
