Pros: Reliable, fast, spacious, great engine, a head-turner.
Cons: Small side mirrors.
The Bottom Line: The 1991 Maxima is the reason that I love Maximas so much. It's just a terrific car no matter which way you slice it.
Review: (edited to include some of Bob's excellent suggestions - thanks!) I never owned the '91 Maxima that I drove; it belonged to my best friend and roommate. She inherited it from her father when she turned sixteen, so by the time I "met" it it was ...

Pros: Outstanding value and reliability. Much better than average performance.
Cons: Nissan refused to honor the recall on this vehicle.
The Bottom Line: A substantial car for the money. Still makes newer more expensive cars seem inferior. Great driving pleasure. But beware Nissan's indifference regarding the recall. Nissan should be ashamed, really.
Review: First the highs: Incredibly reliable. In four years I've put almost 70,000 miles on the car. T ...

Pros: Powerful engine, comfortable seating, reliable car, fun to drive
Cons: Goes through brakes quickly. Cant seem to hold an alignment.
The Bottom Line: Great car, owned it for almost 13 years and never had a major problem. It is very reliable, comfortable, and fun to drive. Would buy another in a second!
Review: Original review: 07/01 I have had 2 Maximas - a 1991 and more recently a 1996. I cannot say enough good things about these cars. They are very reliable. My 91 is still in great shape, have about 155000 miles on it and it is going strong. No major repairs ...

Pros: Plenty of power, reliability ,room, comfort, and looks pretty good.
Cons: NOTHING (no really)
The Bottom Line: Basically, if you want a fast (emphasized), reliable, and comfortable used car, this would be my number one recommendation.
Review: If your a teenager like me, and you like your cars loaded with plenty of umph, this is the car for you.
Not only does this Maxima have a 3.0 Liter engines, but its extremely reliable. My mom bought mine in 91, and gave it to me about a year... |

Pros: Lots of power, great handling, sporty yet comfortable!
Cons: Bose audio system, and the rear left window regulator.
The Bottom Line: If you need cheap transportation that is dependable and easy to maintain, you can't go wrong!
Review: I had a 92 Mazda 929 that was fully loaded. I was in love with this car until the transmission failed and it was going to cost me $1800-$2100 to fix or replace it including labor. My thought was buying another car would be less expensive and if I did...

Pros: Styling, Power! Reliable! Great car!
Cons: None, I love this car!
The Bottom Line: Great car. Buy one if you can. Great car for road trips! Never let you down!
Review: It was October 2005 when I was looking for a car. I was 17. I heard on a local radio station that a guy had an 1989 Nissan Maxima for sale. I checked it out and I loved it! It was the SE with the 5-speed. It was quick, very quick. So I owned that car for ...

Pros: Reliable and good size
Cons: Bose audio system
The Bottom Line: You cannot go wrong with a 1991 Maxima.
Review: I've been the only owner of my Maxima. It has been the most reliable care I've ever owned. I'm slightly over 130,000 miles and the only things to go wrong are:
1 leaky freeze plug. Clock doesn't always display. Bose sound system is... |

Pros: Great car
Cons: Lots of power
The Bottom Line: This car is great and very roomy in both back and front. You can travel without being cramped up and having to shift yourself all over.
Review: I'm going to Update my epinion on my 1991 Nissan Maxima because it's been five years now. WOW HUH?? Nissan Maxima is a great car!! I own a 1991 Nissan and a 1998. They are the best cars to own. I didn't buy the cars my parents did! But when they ...

Pros: Excellent car with lots of power!
Cons: Sound system just comfortable
The Bottom Line: Excellent car for speed, lots of space, looks great and very reliable.
Review: I bought my 1991 Nissan Maxima with 75,000Km it now 111,000km. In 13 months I did 35,000km and never had to do anything major on this car only basic maintenance and minor repairs like most cars.

Pros: Glorious engine. Nice ride. Nice to look at. Well laid-out interior.
Cons: Suspension not on par with engine.
The Bottom Line: If you can get one in good shape, don't hesitate and buy it.
Review: I can think of very few cars that are more satisfying than this one. The quality of its materials and the overall fit and finish give you the impression of being in a more expensive vehicle. Not a rattle, not a shake (not kidding!) and it's 11 years old...
