Beamer Eating Beast...G35's too

Pros: MONSTER engine, CVT Tranny is NICE, Spacious cabin.

Cons: MAJOR lag in 1st gear, GAS guzzler.

The Bottom Line: If you have the need for speed this is it. If you want efficiency, look elsewhere.

I have been driving the Nissan Altima 3.5 V6 SE for two months now and think I can honestly say that it is a BEAST of a car. The technical guys at the dealership broke it down for me about how the V6 3.5 is a monster engine and that it can easily take on stock Beamers and win. That the G35 is just a polished version of the same car, and that more often than not the performance of the Altima is going to be superior as NYC Infiniti dealers tone down the G35s so they are even quieter in the cabin. On a recent trip from NYC to Portsmouth, NH I was more than happy with the giddyup of the car and the acceleration in and out of traffic on I-95.

The downside on this car is that it is a gas guzzler. Don't believe the hype on the sticker. This baby is a monster on the road, but is going to hit you in the wallet. I am coming off a 2005 Honda V6 that used to make the same trip from NYC to Portsmouth and halfway back before I had to stop and fill up. The Altima needed to be filled when I got there and when I got back. Not to mention the tank is bigger so I have to put more in. The Altima destroys the Accord in terms of fun and all, but thehit you take in the wallet is tough.
