Nintendogs: not really what it's barked up to be
Date of Review: Feb 23, 2008
The Bottom Line: I'm not really loving this video game. See my full review to find out why! However, I DO recommend this to a friend, just not in my top 5.
Nintendogs is a game where you can buy virtual puppies, and interact with them! You can go to contests, take them on walks, and dress them up in silly or sweet costumes. However, I personally think that Nintendogs sounds better than it is.
Sure, the puppies are ADORABLE, but there are limited activities you can do with them, and limited breeds you can buy. Also, even though the built-in voice recognition seems cool, it s to cool to be true. The voice recordings sound different every time you try, so it s pointless to have this feature.
I am not saying don t buy Nintendogs. It s a very fun game, but I ve played better. It s also one of those games that don t really have a point to them, unless you can share the experience with a family member or friend. It also gets really old and tiring after a while!
But Nintendogs isn t for everyone. I know many people who really enjoy it. Maybe they are more dog-loving than I am, I don t know. But before you bring this costly game home, think about if it s worth it. You may enjoy it, but you may not.
So Nintendogs to me isn t the best DS game around. But are you stuck in mud about picking a new DS game? I highly recommend Animal Crossing (see my other review about this one).
But before you bring Nintendogs home, just know that it isn t as fun as it s barked up to be.
