Sing, Sing a Song

This game is truly one of the best party games ever put out by Nintendo. It allows for a whole bunch of people to have a lot of fun and get a ton of laughs. I purchased this game a few months ago and played it with my family and friends. The first time I played it, I was just testing it out. As soon as my family heard me, they all came into the room to see what was going on. We ended up playing for more than eight hours that day. It was really great because even my mom (who can’t figure out how to play NES’s Mario Brothers) was able to get into the game.

Not only is this game a very inclusive game, it also helps make you better. When I started playing a few months ago, I couldn’t sing well at all. Now, though I still don’t consider myself a good singer, I can hit a few notes. The game teaches you how to hit the notes by showing an arrow of where your voice is and having a bar of where it should be. If you’re singing a song that you know, it doesn’t take very long to figure out what you have to do to match your voice to the game.

The most fun happens when people sing songs that they don’t know really well or that don’t suit them. For example, a friend of mine has a very deep voice. When he tried to sing A-Ha’s “Take on Me” I couldn’t stop laughing. And when people try to mimic the style of singing, it’s even funnier. When I sing the Commodores “Brick House” my family cracks up because I try so hard to imitate the sound of the singer’s voice that I’m nowhere near the note. Also, when I sing the Rolling Stone’s “Start Me Up” I make my friends and family laugh because I imitate the music video.

This game really bridges generations well because it has songs from different generations and because it is easy enough so that anyone who knows how to hold a microphone can play.
