Author's Review
I ended up buying my wife an early Christmas gift. They have a wide variety of colors, so I grabbed my wife the white one. I decided to try it for a bit. The system is solid, pretty good to hold grip wise. The screens are colorful and clear, very easy to read. The sound works very well, as does the Mic.
The DS menu system (when you do not have a game in) is easy to use and navigate. The game variety is huge and plentiful, more than the PSP. I first tried some old advance games on it. They all worked fine and had no problems playing my classics. I tried several DS games, that do and do not use the touchscreen. Warioware was very fun, as well as the Castlvanias and Zombie BBQ.
You can purchase a Web browser for the system as well and use it to connect to the internets. It has wireless G and you can connect to an access point or ad-hoc to another system and play versus or co-op in some games.
The only problem I had with the system, it is pretty small and my hands cramp when I have to use the trigger buttons alot. That's what happens when you have big manly hands. For kids and women, they will have no problem with it. Overall, it is a fun system, for children and adults.
