Even better than the first Brain Age!

I received Brain Age 2 Nintendo DS game as a gift. I'm not normally the type to play video games, but I do enjoy puzzles and things that make me think. I had received the first game in the series a few months before I received this one. I love this game. The goal is to complete short brain training exercises each day. Through a brain test, you measure the age of your brain and how quickly it processes information. Tests are both verbal and math.

I play this game at least a few times a week. I lead a pretty busy life, but I can usually find the time to play for just five or ten minutes at a time. That's long enough to see progress! Brain Age 2 has a larger selection of training exercises than the first game in the series, and I enjoy that I can do something different every day.

I know the game has made me sharper and forced me to focus on the exercises. My ability to block out background distractions has really improved! However, it seems like my brain age when I started was lower partly because I was unfamiliar with how the game worked. While my performance on the test content improved, I think some of my improvement is due to the fact that I am now accustomed to the game and its testing format.

Brain Age is a fun game that is definitely worth the time and cost. I would recommend buying it, but I wouldn't recommend relying on it as the end all, be all of testing your brain's function.
