A very good choice for a serious amateur

by   rickbarrett ,  Aug 3, 2007
Pros: value, light metering, VR lens, size, integration, flexibility, auto-focus
Cons: software
The Bottom Line: Considering flexibility and cost the Nikon D-80 is more bang for the buck than the Canon 30D.
Review: The D-80 is the current evolution of the Nikon Digital line that makes taking photographs a joy. This camera has more capability to help you get the image you want and the cost is reasonable compared to a Canon. I considered the Canon 30D and this ...

Great SLR for under $1,000

by   tapc1 ,  Mar 30, 2009
Pros: Look like a pro, shot like a pro, without any camera knowledge.
Cons: LCD is only for reviewing the shots you just took. Built in flash
The Bottom Line: For the hobbiest on the high end, or the Professional on a budget or for a second camera.  This Brand is so widly supported, it makes sence to buy.
Review: My goal was to get into the digital SLR world for under $1,000 bucks, after weeks of research and visits to Best Buy, I found the answer with the Nikon D80.  Here's why.I picked up Sony, Nikon and Cannon, and immediately you can ...

Great Camera, excellent shots, easy to use.

by   hs4g ,  Dec 3, 2007
Pros: Great pictures, easy to use, very little learning curve to get going.
Cons: bulkier than a point and shoot
The Bottom Line: This camera is great for those either breaking into professional photography or who just want a little more control in their pictures. Not good for parties.
Review: I bought this camera from Circuit City days before going on a cruise. I had looked all over the net and found one deal which turned out to be a scam and found that Circuit City had probably the best deal of any local brick and mortar store. ...

Great SLR

by   davidehi ,  Nov 30, 2006
Pros: Beautiful Pictures, Fast, Easy to use.
Cons: Cost more than Canon, but worth it!
Review: This is one of the finest digital SLR cameras on the market. It is easy to use, and the pictures you take are nothing short of astonishing in color and clarity. Plenty of features for the semi-pro yet fully automatic if you want it to be for the first ...

Sleek, sexy Black Camera

by   suro3taker ,  Dec 13, 2006
Pros: High resolution, high picture quality
Cons: expensive
Review: Bought at my local electronic superstore after researching online. I had to look at the camera in person before buying it. Took some test pictures of downtown and my local neighborhood. I must say that I was impressed with the picture quality. The ...
