Product Review

Fantastic Camera and Lens Combo

by   o2bupsidown ,   Aug 7, 2007

Pros:  Continuous shutter without delay is amazing. Recently shot humpback whales breaching...spectacular!

Cons:  Camera is heavy and bulky, but you know you are holding quality. Get a backpack

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

I am a recent enthusiast and am LOVING my new toy. It took me about 1 month to start producing what I would consider professional quality photographs with my D200. I have used it since Christmas day 2006. Using the automatic settings alone will produce great shots and needed a photography refresher course to understand the manual however. I had some early problems figuring out how to capture good pictures in low light. The learning curve was not bad at all. Many of my early challenges went away once I upgraded to the 18-200 lens. The lens is amazingly versatile. In the 4 months since purchasing the lens, I have not switched to any other lens. The combination of the body and lens is heavy, but I actually like that. It improves your ability to hold still for certain shots (i.e. shooting wildlife from a rocking boat)

Worth every penny of the price...esp the lens!
