Pros: Feature rich, lens interchangeability, 6 megapixel resolution
Cons: Cons: see a few concerns below
The Bottom Line: Nikon s new D 100 is a solid digital SLR, a real option for both pros and serious amateurs
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Nikon introduced the first serious professional digital SLR camera, the D1, in early 1999. The D1 was the first reasonably priced digital SLR, and prior to its introduction professional caliber Digital cameras often cost more than a new car. The...

Pros: It's got all the functions needed for a basic professional camera.
Cons: Only 2 frames per second motor drive.
The Bottom Line: Overall it's a pretty good pro camera, but it's a absolutely great amatuer camera!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: First of all it's a great camera and definitely the most camera you can buy right now for the price. The body is light and smaller than the D1 (that is without the MB-D100 vertical grip). The shutter is also much quieter than some of the previous...

Pros: Just a great camera to use with all the versatility that you could want.
Cons: A wide angle lens is too expensive and is badly needed.
The Bottom Line: It would be nice if Nikon made the sensor the size of a 35mm film so that the lenses would give you what they are rated to do.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The body of the camera is designed beautifully. All of the controls are well thought out and well placed. Just a dream to work with. The battery lasts forever, almost. The built in flash does a good job for a built in, but if you add the SB 80, you...

Pros: Good pictures, rugged construction, Nikon lenses.
Cons: Jpeg quality, must use Capture3 software to work with RAW files, C3 is unacceptable.
The Bottom Line: Until users can transfer RAW files easily to the PC, or Nikon addresses a simply unacceptable job on its C3 software, I can't recommend it.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: I took a number of pictures using all formats and decided with this camera RAW is the only way to go because of the widely reviewed "softness" of its jpeg output. However, you have to install Capture 3 software to work with the RAW files - which are...

Cons: Speed, professional oriented if thats a bad thing
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I also have a N80 and I thought this would be a perfect addition to my kit and it is, there are so many good things to say about this camera. For one you can use g lenses that you can buy a 70-300 for a hundred easy. It has the same quality as...

Pros: Pictures, Product construction, Battery life
Cons: Software, Support
The Bottom Line: 1) Excellent product (High quality manufacture), except for the software. 2) Nikon needs a better support department.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I'm very happy with the camera, the quality and construction are excellent. Unfortunately I have two complains:
1) Software. I cannot believe that such expensive camera does NOT include the required software to handle pictures on the... |

Pros: great feel, quick response, DON'T need nikon capture to open RAW files
Cons: sharpness, write time
The Bottom Line: I've tried both D60, and D100, and both are excellent. If you have nikon glass, go with D100
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: for specs, and a thorough review of the camera, go to-
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond100 My main gripe (as with most other owners) is that the photos just aren't sharp in jpeg mode. The solution is to shoot in RAW mode, but... |

Pros: Very versatile, user friendly, and room for more toys. The battery lasts for days !!
Cons: I think the optional handle should be included in package.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: If you are new to digital photography or just getting ready to transition to digital from 35mm, make this your first step. Others have rated this camera low because of underexposing images, but the bracketing capabilities of this camera makes it...

Pros: Excepts all lens. It's light, fast, durable and SHARP!! It's my new buddy.
Cons: Be careful changing lens. Dust gets in easy. Carry a can of air BE CAREFUL!!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Beautiful sharp images! Have owned it now for a year and love it. I shoot professional golf and course photography. I back-up all my 6x7 images with the D100. Sure it can't match the detail that film picks up but the images are fantastic. I've had...

Pros: Excellent quality, good easy control, ap/shutter dials, ::Custom Tone Curves::, good response
Cons: Nikon capture (only CTCs), card door, Compressed RAW worthless, need self-cleaning sensor, pc-sync?, firewire?
The Bottom Line: Great quality and easy digial body for advanced shooters and pros. Recommend.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Having used slrs and digital compacts before, I was looking for a good kit to get into. All I had on the slr front was a couple of old ae-1s that I was looking to upgrade. I figured on getting a new film slr and digital slr with some great lenses. I...
