Disappointing

We purchased the camera for our daughter’s wedding and the design of the camera was what probably sold us on it. The initial start up seemed long while the recycle time was better. This has been a point of contention for us with our previous digital camera. However, we were disappointed with the quality of the pictures taken. Many of the flash pictures were fringed and had too much contrast. The video was even more disappointing with grainy images and poor colouring. The 10x optical zoom was a nice feature but without video image stabilization was difficult to get crisp images without a tripod. We returned the Nikon to the dealer and exchanged it for the Canon A700 that we are very happy with.
