Nikon with a twist

I purchased this camera for use on a trip to the Far East. It excelled in a wide range of situations and I am very pleased. I took a wide variety of pictures - people, landscapes, macros, night shots, and action pictures. The camera out performed most cameras carried by other people in the group when comparing autofocus accuracy, color balance, and shutter speeds. The 10x zoom allowed the camera to outperform smaller models. The camera will fit in your pocket far easier than most 10x digital cameras.

I wanted a camera with at least 8x zoom, SD memory, and AA batteries in a pocket sized package and Nikon delivered.

The joystick is the major problem. It is difficult to use without paying close attention. Deleting unwanted images is slow. Setting up the self timer, flash, or macro focus may require more than one attempt. More than once the mode switch was moved as I slid the camera into its case. In bright sunlight the view screen was nearly impossible to use. Those were my problems.

I enjoy using the S4 and have no regrets.
