Author's Review
After our 3 mega-pixel camera broke, we were in the market for a new digital camera. I did some online research and found the L3 for $110 and thought it was a great deal. I knew Nikon was a quality name and felt it was a safe purchase.
We have had this camera for a year and have had minimal problems. We had an issue with the lens which we sent back to have repaired. The warranty papers and repair form were time consuming, but understandable. However, after a month without my camera, I was frustrated. When they finally shipped it back, it still wasn't repaired. I had to send it to Nikon again (although they did send a shipping label). I waited 3 weeks this time to receive my camera. However, it does work and we haven't had any problems since that time.
For basic picture taking, we've been fairly pleased. The camera is small and lightweight, making it easy to take places. My children are able to take pictures and video with it as well. (It has a strap which makes me more comfortable with the kids using it.) The picture quality is good for basic photos. I don't think you would get any great quality portraits from it, though. The shutter speed is pretty slow if you're using low light. However, it has a lot of extra features which are nice to use. (night pictures, beach scenes, video with sound)
I would recommend this camera if you're in the market for a basic, well-priced camera.
