50mm1.8 best $100 i ever spent

Date of Review: Jul 21, 2000

I am a NIKON user & have a few lenses in my kit. The NIKON A/F 50 mm 1.8 is the sharpest of all& i have what i consider some very good lenses.
Compared to my 80-200 2.8, & 24 2.8 this inexpensive little lens is what i use when sharpness is my only concern.

Even though it is not a D lens i find that for outside work it is not missed at all.I have used it in all types of situations & the results are not to be believed.

The built quality feels kind of flimsy & it is made in CHINA. Do not let this turn you off. The 1.4 version is more expensive & is a D lens but it also is made in CHINA & is not as sharp as the 1.8.

When traveling the 1.8 & the 24 2.8 make a good pair with my F 100 camera.
This lens is the best $100 dollars i ever spent .
