My Go-To Lens

I purchased the Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens in May 2008 for use with my D50 and have been very pleased.  This has become my go-to lens and I rarely have need for another lens.  I have used it during visits to Disney World, trips to the mountains of New Mexico, capturing my daughter's marching band in action and general every-day shots.  Although it's a bit heavy, I really like the versatility.  It has produced images that are sharp and clear.  The vibration reduction has worked extremely well for zoomed, hand-held shots and I've had good low-light results using a monopod.  I have also taken photos from a moving vehicle using the active mode with good results.  From portrait settings, to scenery, to action shots, this lens has proved to be worth the investment.

With photography just being a hobby for me, it was initially a bit tough to justify the cost of the lens, but I have not regretted the purchase.  This has been a rock-solid lens and I've been happy with the results. 

Also, this is the first time I have ordered an imported (grey market) lens from B&H.  I read the warranty information and decided to "take the chance".  As related above, the lens has performed beautifully and the overall purchasing experience was very positive.
