Awesome lens!

If you can afford this lens, it is truly a must have. I own a D50 and I just bought this lens about 4 months ago. Previously, I was using two lenses. I had a wide angle (18-55)and a zoom lens(28-200). It is a pain to have to carry two lenses and switch between them, especially if you need to switch between them immediately. This lens does it all and has the VR (vibration reduction) included. I have only been in serious photography in less than a year, but my pictures look just as good, if not better than professionals. The ability to control the depth of field is much better than I anticipated. If you do purchase this lens, I recommend the Sunpak UV filters and CP (circular polarizer) filters. I take portraits and action shots constantly (daughter is in competition cheer) and this lens is quick and forgiving (even in low light), especially when not using a tripod. I do need to mention that I do also use the SB-800. It helps this lens with the multiple shot feature! Though it does add more weight, which can be a bit much for older people, it is definitely worth it when you don't have to carry around 2 separate lenses!
