The Last Lens I Will Need
Pros:
One lens convenience. Fast. Brilliant pictures.
Cons:
Of course, the price is steep.
The Bottom Line:
If I lost this lens, I would be replacing it immediately. (And crying over the cost...)

Author's Review
I had been wanting this lens since I first bought my D40X camera last Summer. I am not a pro, so I was not too concerned with the questions of image quality on the edges of the lens's range. Just wanted to get closer to the kids' soccer games. When I finally did make the leap (yes, it was expensive - more than the camera itself), I was immediately glad I did. The pictures are beautiful. The autofocus settings work well every time. Again, I am a casual amateur, who also occasionally uses the camera for (small in size) hi-res catalog images, and lo-res online images for my business. But, the bulk of the time, this lens is taking family pictures.
This lens does everything I need it to do. In fact, the VR system seems to have made me a much better photographer than I had been. And, honestly, I don't see any problems with the pictures at all. At least, none that I couldn't attribute to my own inexperience... I am continually impressed at how much better "my" shots are getting!
If you are like me, with a desire to get into DSLR photography, and neither the space nor the desire to carry multiple lenses, you will be delighted with the Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Nikkor Lens.
Anyone want to buy my old 18-55mm lens? I won't need it.
