Author's Review
We have been fans of Nick Jr. for several years now. Very seldom does a morning go by that we don't watch at least one Nick Jr. show, both of my girls love every Nick Jr. show that is one and adore FACE. It was for this reason that I decided to subscribe to Nick Jr. the magazine. I knew the girls would love the magazine, but what I didn't realize was how much I would enjoy reading it.
The commercial says Nick Jr. Magazine is where kids play to learn and parents learn to play, they are not kidding. There is so much loaded into this magazine that you and your children can learn to do together. Where else can you find out how to turn an ordinary brown paper shopping bag into armor, basket, fish head, bag doll or a car.
There are article that are aimed for children only, the noodle section lets your kids play games and read about their favorite Nick Jr. characters. There are also articles for the grown-up, including Creative Parenting. The December/January issue's Creative Parenting had smart tips for teaching kids that holidays are about giving as well as getting. Also in the December/January issue there was a pull-out calendar that your child could add stickers too (stickers included), 3 bookmarks that had tips on how to pick a book for a particle age range, and lastly there was a handy dandy notebook (heavy paper that had looked like the notebook and had a place to draw all 3 clues).
Nick Jr. is published 6 times a year and subscription will run you 6 issues for $2.50 which equals $15.00 a year, or you can get 12 issues for 1.66, which would be 19.92 for a 2 year subscription. I believe the age range would be for a child between the ages of 3 - 6, both of my girls ages 2 1/2 and 5 seem to really like the magazine, even though the 2 1/2 year old did seem to be a little young for it, she enjoyed looking at all her favorite characters.
