Nextar M3-02 Car GPS Receiver

I bought a Nextar M3-02 at a local hardware store for $119.00 it was on sale from $210.00  I got it home and plugged it in and it worked fine.
3 months later just all of a sudden it wouldn't turn on after charging for 6 hours. i plugged it into a different outlet and had the same problem. It would only stay on if the car charger was plugged into it or the USB cord was attatched. I requested to have nextar repair it and they made me pay for shipping to california from texas ($21.00) I got the unit and all the accessories (EXCEPT the home charger) back that i had to send in. I called back about the home charger and thats going to take another 7 days for them to send that. I plugged in the USB cord and it turns on but its not charging it like it says it should and the computer doesn't recognize it. Now i have to find the drivers the hard way.
