Smokey Is Replaced By Day-Day In 'Next Friday'

The cast of Friday is back in the next installment of the Friday series.

This time Craig is the town hero for beating Deebo to a pulp at the end of the last movie and when he learns Deebo and his brother Tyrone have broken out of prison to come get revenge, Craig's father decides to pack up his son and move him out to the good life with his brother Elroy who won the lottery a little while back. When they both get ready and are pulling out of the driveway Deebo and his brother stop them and try to get Craig to get out of the dog catching van. Craig's dad hits the gas and blows by them on the way to Elroy's house. After dropping Craig off with Elroy and his son Day-Day, his father leaves and Deebo and his brother sneak into the back of the van after calling him and telling him Craig is in trouble so he would take them exactly to where Craig is hiding. Meanwhile Day-Day is showing Craig around and when he goes to work at a record shop called Pinky's, Craig meets Day-Day's white friend, Roach. After the two of them are fired from Pinky's they return home to see the Mexicans across the street with a cylinder full of cash go into their house and Craig falls for their little sister, Karla. When Craig decides to sneak over there with Day-Day and Roach and steal the cylinder and win Karla's heart, all Hell breaks loose, and Craig has no idea he is about to get more than he bargained for because Deebo and Tyrone are on their way there.

Ice Cube once again plays Craig and he is just as brilliant as he was in the first movie. This time he is funnier as he teams up with Mike Epps who plays Day-Day and Justin Pierce who plays Roach. I like how the three of them work together to steal the cylinder full of money and I also think they were gut busting funny, all three of them. John Witherspoon plays Craig's dad again this time he really kicks butt with his brother Elroy played by Don Curry. Together both of them are hilarious and I think they were perfect as brothers who argue all the time over everything. Karla is played by Lisa Rodriguez and she has the beauty aspect covered in the movie as she tempts Craig from across the street. Tommy "Tiny" Lister once again plays Deebo and him and his little brother Tyrone, played by rapper Sticky Fingaz, are both awesome in this movie as the bad guys and make me laugh just as much as Craig and Day-Day.

This is a great movie and an awesome sequel and I liked it more than the original. The only thing I didn't like was that Smokey wasn't in it as Craig said in the beginning he went to rehab to learn to control his craving for marijuana. Other than that, this movie is great and I loved every minute of it. A movie that is definitely better than the original.
