The Bottom Line: This is a must have for mothers who don't want to put their baby down to do chores.
This carrier is incredibly helpful for a mother with many children. I love to carry my newborns around all the time (they prefer it too!) so without a carrier, nothing would ever get done.
A newborn gets lost in the wrap unless you stuff it with rolled up receiving blankets or pillows. At about three months though they fill it up nicely. Once the baby has very good head control, I use the sling to carry the baby on my hip. I use a sling until my babies are about six to seven months old before I switch over to a wrap where I can put them on my back. That way they are out of the way more with their little touchy fingers but they are still with me.
One problem people could have with the sling is the inability to adjust it. If my husband were to use it, he would need a different size.
So far as ease of use is concerned, compared to a traditional front / back carrier where you put the contraption on and slide the baby in front supported by a board, the New Native Sling is wonderful! I would not use the traditional carrier without help. The New Native Sling just slips over your head, you position it for your body, and pop your baby in. Simple! The New Native Sling is so much more comfortable than a traditional carrier and does not cause back strain.
