Best Album

by  got2lovegirls ,  Jul 11, 2002
12 out of 12 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Kurt Cobain is a great, emotional singer, if you like Nirvana, this is for you.
Cons: Not EVERY SINGLE song is good, but most are excellent.
The Bottom Line: Nirvana is a powerful band, and they knew how to put on a show. They are a really rockin' band that most people can enjoy.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Nevermind is the best Nirvana album in my opinion. I say this because I don't just listen to one song like I do with my other CD's. Almost every song is really good, and the lyrics are so powerful. This music is pure rock; once you listen to the...

Just Didn't Hold Up Over The Years

by  marty1982 ,  Feb 15, 2003
17 out of 17 people found this review helpful.
Pros: A solid reflection on the state of music in the early nineties, some nice riffs.
Cons: Weak lyrical writing, poor aging, and somewhat bizarre song structuring.
The Bottom Line: Nevermind is an influential yet average album that's well past its prime.
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: There are some albums that become popular/influential more because of the time they were released in than the actual quality of their music. Motley Crue released their first album around the time MTV first hit the airwaves (and image became...

Grunge at its Best

by  tomthebomb14 ,  Sep 11, 2004
1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
Pros: The lyrics and music are both emotionally awe-inspiring, and energetic and fun.
Cons: May possibly rock too hard for amateur rockers.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This album is arguably Nirvana's best collection of songs. It was ranked #3 in Rolling Stone's "Top 500 Albums of all time." The beautifully crafted combination of Kurt's ripping guitar and gorgeous lyrics, Kris' rampant bass, and Dave's sadistic...

Pros: Every song is amazing
Cons: It ends
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I know everyone has heard all about this album but it really is that good! Although I am slightly biased, being a huge Nirvana fan but every song on the album is awesome and will appeal to any fan of grunge, metal, punk or even just rock. The album...

The song heard round the world

by  Thresh ,  Jan 24, 2000

Pros: A landmark album
Cons: It's getting kinda old
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I remember back when I was in fifth grade, and everyone loved those silly hair bands like Motley Crue and Poison. I always preferred Guns N' Roses, but anyway one day everyone was talking about Nirvana. It was Nirvana this Nirvana that, well it...

One of us was lying when he said I don't have a gun

by  pyfr ,  Feb 3, 2008
30 out of 30 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Mammoth sound, cutting voice, strong melodic hooks. Appealing in its simplicity. Different for its time.
Cons: The second half sounds tired in places. I hear no mysticism in Kurt's lyrics.
The Bottom Line: I'm not about to hail it as the punk album of my generation, but it did deconstruct hard rock music as we knew it then.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Here are Pyfr s basic beliefs about Nevermind, specifically its place in music history and its accomplishments.

The success of Nirvana s second album had as much to do with the state of the music industry then as it did with Kurt...

The CD that opened the door

by  Jedimstr13 ,  Dec 7, 1999
5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Great songs, great vocals, improved drumming w/ the addition of dave grohl
Cons: A bit too comercial - but only hardcore Nirvana/grunge fans will notice that
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Nevermind. One of the most successfull CD's ever. It is perfectly understandable why. The big hit that started Nirvana's successful ride to the top: Smells Like Teen Spirit starts off the CD. After that the CD keeps on going. How can you go wrong...

Greatest album ever...

by  hbk143 ,  Oct 29, 1999
11 out of 11 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Nirvana's most successful album, greatest punk album ever made
Cons: none
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I was introduced to this album via my boyfriend. I've never really been into music until I heard him talk about Kurt Cobain and Nirvana's (at the time) new album, Nevermind. I decided to listen to it for a while. I became attached after "Come as you...

TOTAL NIRVANA

by  kelabelle ,  Oct 15, 2000
6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Absolutely a Must Have!!
Cons: None Whatsoever
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This groundbreaking effort by Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl, and Krist Novaselic, is already legendary and should be a part of any decent music collection. When you consider the range of sound these three young men were able to provide us,the finished...

They totally sold out, dude

by  trey_stone ,  Jul 17, 2009
35 out of 35 people found this review helpful.
Pros: Great melodies that have a way of worming into your subconsciousness
Cons: The slower songs
The Bottom Line: Calling stuff overrated is overrated.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: From what I can tell, it seems like in certain circles Nirvana's major-label debut "Nevermind" has fallen victim to a Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's"/"Revolver"-style revisionism. You know, where critics wake up one day and suddenly realize, "you know what,...
