Netgear Wireless Router (WGR614): Netgear's router will set you free.

Date of Review:  Dec 8, 2003
The Bottom Line: Home networking is easy with the Netgear WGR614 Wireless Router.
Review: Before I owned my laptop I never needed a router, much less a wireless router, because I only had one computer connected to my cable modem (on Time Warner's RoadRunner). I had hopes that one day I would have my own personal network of computers but...

NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router; My Second, Hoping It Lasts Longer Than My First Router

Date of Review:  Jan 26, 2009
The Bottom Line:

The good thing is that this was inexpensive at $40, set up easily, and gives enough signal, even to the far reaches of our large home, to work without fail.

Review: I have had the D-Link Wireless Router WBR-1310 for about 2 and a half years. It was an excellent piece of equipment for me.  Unfortunately I started having major problems with the  D-Link Wireless Router WBR-1310.  At first I thought it was my cable...

Netgear WGR614 Wireless Router

Date of Review:  Dec 23, 2006
The Bottom Line: I would recomend this for anyone looking for a good Cable/DSL router.
Review: I went by our local CompUSA a couple of months ago because I needed a second wireless router for computer work I was doing as a side job.

I was working on laptop for a friend because he said he wasn't able to connect to the new wireless...

It's a "G" Thang - Netgear Wireless-G Router

Date of Review:  Feb 26, 2009
The Bottom Line: Its the easiest and simplest router I've ever installed! I was up and running, able to use the wireles signal  in 15 minutes. No problems!
Review: All I needed was a wireless zone in my office.  I have comcast cable at my office for my internet connection, and on many occasions my son comes with me to do his homework. He has a MacBook with an airport express wireless connection.

My...

Wireless.... with an attitude!!

Date of Review:  Oct 27, 2003
The Bottom Line: Great router for a quick home network. Made with the home/multiple computer user in mind
Review: This product is for anyone a intermediate amount of computer knowledge. If you can type an address into your browser, then you can get this router to work.

Out of the box, it is neat to look at... silver, slim, with a nice little stand for...

A good router for those who don't mind constant resets

Date of Review:  Jan 29, 2006
The Bottom Line: I recommend it for websurfing and downloading only because the connection dropouts make long-term constant web use (like gaming) impossible.
Review: Previous Experience:
I have previously used a wired D-Link router, and a wired Trendnet switch. The D-link had speed limitation problem until the firmware was updated.

Specifications (for WGR614 V5):
This device has four wired...

A cup of Fedora

Date of Review:  Feb 12, 2009
The Bottom Line: I can recomend for Windows but Linux users may require their own manuals.  I'll post a comment FAQ here.
Review: Over View 3.5/5
Fedora is my main operating system due to flexibility and remaining reliable in the clutch.  After many times using different operating systems in the past the configuring and usability of a Net Gear router has always remained the...

NetGear 54G wireless router - look no further

Date of Review:  Jan 6, 2004
The Bottom Line: You can literally plug this in and forget about it. It's that simple to install, and you don't have to touch it unless you want to lock down your network.
Review: I bought this router about 3 months ago and love it. The technology itself is amazing, and NetGear has made it simple to use. It's great to be able to wander around the house with my laptop and maintain a constant connection. I can even sit outside...

So much needless bad press

Date of Review:  Nov 8, 2004
The Bottom Line: Outstanding price for features and performance. Requires some tooling around (SP2 and firmware updates). If you don't feel confident enough to do this, buy something for double the price.
Review: Ok,I realize that Netgear released this product with some MAJOR difficulties, especially when used with Alcatel ADSL routers.

The two biggest problems were (1) constant network connection failures. This problem is fixed by SP 2. So, if you...

Wireless router saga ends with Netgear

Date of Review:  Jan 29, 2005
The Bottom Line: Unlike the 3 other brands I mention, it works!! Actually holds a connection and doesn't require power cycles!!
Review: My saga started when I was about to move in with a friend, who was not keen on my running wires throughout her house so that we could both share Comcast high-speed cable. I figured, no problem, I'll just go wireless--the technology is pretty cheap...
