Just what Kingtech Ordered!

The Bottom Line: This kit delivers exactly what it promised and the installation is idiot-proof.
The walls in my house are thick. Some of them are over 12 inches thick...and made of concrete. So even in the next room the wireless signal on my notebook computer would seldom see a signal strength above 40%. I also use my notebook in the garage quite a bit (which isn't an attached garage but separate from the house) and found the signal so weak that my T1 Internet connection would degrade down to dialup speeds. I wasn't keen on the idea of running Cat5 Cable around the property and my wife thought even less of runing cable around her newly decorated Living Room.
An hour or so of searching the net for a fix eventually turn up the Netgear WGXB102 Wall-Plugged Wireless Range Extender Kit. This kit utilizes the electrical wiring in your home to pass the signal from room to room (or building). The kit has two wall-plugged units. One is plugged into a wall outlet near your router and attached to the router with the included Ethernet cable. The other unit is plugged into a wall outlet in the room or building where you want to beef up your wireless signal. Pretty simple stuff.
The installation went off without a hitch. I plugged in both units (no software to install), restarted my notebook, changed the SSID, and my signal instantly jumped to 95%! I then unplugged the unit from the living room and took it and my notebook out to the garage. I plugged the unit in, fired up my notebook and again...my signal jumped right up into 95% and occasionally hit 100%. Problem solved!
