Author's Review
Generally when a gaming company shifts one of their titles onto a game system, the transformation horribly disfigures the game, rendering it completely devoid of fun. Though, this is not the case for Orange Box for the Xbox 360.
Orange Box is actually a collection of three games with two expansion packs: Half-Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress.
The Half-Life 2 series of the group offers a gripping storyline paired with decent graphics and a solid physics engine. I truly cannot capture of the brilliance of the half-life 2 piece in just this short article. I recommend just going out and buying the game.
Portal is essentially a humorous puzzle game that allows to the player to teleport from point-to-point to make it to the end of the level. The game offers a unique teleport gun that allows the player to freely move between walls to complete goals. While the game is short and offers no multiplayer functionality, it does serve as an round out the dark nature of half-life 2 with some humorous puzzles.
Team Fortress is a solely multiplayer game which offers intense fast-paced game play with comicly styled characters. Though, by the standards of most Multiplayer games, Team Fortress is a bit limited. All of its multiplayer is hosted over live leaving no room from a lan party. The game is also limited to just a single map for the game play.
Overall it is refreshing to see a decent console port of a massively popular PC genre game. All the titles offers great gameplay and storylines and consequently offer a hours of solid gameplay to anyone.
