Product Review

Canadian Maps on palm gps unit

by   carlykins ,   Sep 29, 2008

Pros:

I do like that the instructions are verbal.

Cons:

Because of the age of my palm I can no longer update my maps.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

Author's Review

I find that the way the maps are designated in this system a little confusing. I find that it breaks down cities into smaller areas kinda like sub cities. I double check any directions that I question on mapquest. I find this especially confusing when travelling to destinations in the GTA. I have yet to use the GPS unit in areas other than Ontario Canada. Also because of the way the maps are loaded onto you card you load Canadian maps seperate for US maps. Thus you can not plan a trip continuously from a point in Canada to a point in the US, you are required to switch maps at the border. We did use the GPS to drive to Florida from our home in Ontario and after switching maps at the border it found us our way. There were a couple of times when the map showed us as being slightly of course, probably due to a road change but we never got lost.
