Author's Review

For less than the cost of a dedicated GPS you get something that works even better and is a first rate PDA as well. Voice directions mean you don't even have to take the thing out of your pocket to get to your destination. The display is very easy to read and the functionality is exactly what you need for car navigation.

In fact, the best thing about the TomTom/Palm package is that it's tuned for car navigation. It's not intended to get you back to your favorite fishing spot or to get you home if you are lost in the woods. (It can do those things, btw, but there are better devices if that's what you want.) Leaving out this functionality means leaving out any compromises that distract from what it does best.

I've also noticed that if you go off route, other GPSs will get you back on track by having you return to where you went wrong. This system will just keep updating the route and tell you how to get back on track without having to go back.
