Product Review

Give The Real News

by   jjmmjj57 ,   May 10, 2006

Pros:  Words, not photographs; conservative; interesting; speaks well to its readership.

Cons:  Becoming more mainstream; overtly Catholic (WFBuckly's influence).

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

The National Review gives me the Conservative side (though it has become more liberal/mainstream) and the NYTimes give me the liberal (make that way liberal) side. Put them together, I can make my opinion. Being conservative, it's preaching to the choir when I read it.

No garish photography or visuals, it's meant to be read. It's a magazine that reads as a newspaper in many ways. Look forward to it in the mail.

Via the ads and some editorial content, it's a publication that definitely has a Catholic bias. That's neither good nor bad, but, it's definitely interesting to see such an historically conservative publication supported by an institution that, politically at least, is usually associated with liberal issues.
