This game is great. What an incredible difference and upgrade from the 2008 version of the game.
You can truly control the car. You can adjust the AI strength. There is normal mode-more arcade like. There is pro mode which is simulated and very real. The game is really made to fit anyone's level of racing gaming.
Damage on the game is very real. You have to race clean or your car will be effected.
The set up of the cars can be as easy or detailed as you like. There are two set up screens. A basic screen for simple things and a advanced screen that allows you to truly become the crew chief. You can adjust things like the spoiler, wedge, track bar, sway bar, air pressure, bump stop, camber, the list goes on and on. There are actually over 40 tuning controls to work with. You can save these setups for the series or for the track.
While using some drivers you can pick multiple paint schemes. There is a create a car setting. You can create a car, number, sponsors, etc. You can do this for truck series, car series, and car of tomorrow. One thing that kind of weird, is that your number has to be three digits. Not sure why they have that rule.
I do not have one, but I know the game does support the Playstation 2 racing wheels with the USB connections to control gameplay.
There are several modes as you would expect. There is a Chase for the Cup mode, a Season mode, a Sprint Driver Challenge mode, and a Test and Tune mode. You can race online with up to 13 live drivers.
As a Nascar fan, I've been waiting forever for the game to come out. I was so disappointed with the 2008 version. The changes they've made are incredible and the game was well worth the wait.
