Decent Wireless Mics on a Budget
Pros:
Inexpensive, good range, good sound, better than expected
Cons:
2 mics controlled by one mixer input, probably not too durable
The Bottom Line:
Give this set a try. They're perfect for the budget minded DJ's or Hosts. Don't expect Shures as they are not made to compete at that level.

You've probably heard it over and over: "You get what you pay for." In the case of the NADY DKW-DUO Wireless Microphones, you get just a little bit more for the 40 bucks you pay for this package. Maybe it's not a set of Shures, but considering you may be handing these off to a drunk Karaoke wanna be who may dunk it in a beer or drop it on the floor, you can't go wrong purchasing these.
My first impression after unwrapping this set is that the plastic mics felt a little cheap and my fear was this would translate into a lot of handling noise if used off of a stand. In fact, these did very well during a Bible School performance by 10 year old who held one while singing and gesturing. Durability may be in question as it is my belief these won't handle too many falls to the floor.
The 2 mics are are picked up by one receiver which has one output. So, one slider on the mixer board controls both mics. This may or may not be a problem, for me, I can live with it. However, 2 singers with two different ranges and volume shouldn't be using these together. Individual volume control can be accomplished by using the 2 volume controls on the receiver but I found I had to turn the volume all the way up on the receiver to get better control on my mixer. The sound quality is fine but I wouldn't count on it for a recording session or live concert. This set is better suited for calling out bingo numbers, making announcements, offering up a toast at a wedding reception, or a sing along at a party.
There was a point where it seemed like I was having a problem with one of the mics dropping out but I think other issues not related to this system may have been at hand causing the problem. Since that one time, I have not noticed any transmit/receive problems from the mics or the receiver. You can get a pretty good distance away from the receiver without connectivity issues which is fine for most situations. I was able to walk about 150' from the receiver before experiencing connectivity issues. I never had feedback even standing 5 feet from the front of one of the speakers.
Nady sells this set in two different channel configurations so if you are happy with one set and want a second, make sure you specify the other channel configuration when you place your order
For wireless mics priced in the $40-$50 range, these are worth a try. There will be some situation where you don't want to put your more expensive equipment in Jeopardy, when that happens, these would be a good substitute. However, with a little care and proper use, these will make a great addition to your DJ equipment inventory.
