Author's Review
When EA Sports started making hockey games like NHL Hockey '94, the youth of America went nuts. It was the first chance to play a hockey game that was actually worth your time. If you were one of the people who went nuts then, wait until you play NHL 2001. This game will bow your boots off in more then one way.
After playing NHL 2001 for only a few minutes you will be able to see why people think the game delivers all the excitement of high flyin', big hittin', big shootin', powerplay hockey. With this game you can be part of the action like never before. Some of the newest features of the game are the Big Shot, Big Hit and the Momentum Meter. The Momentum Meter is actually a trademark of EA sports. Besides all these great features, you get the greatest graphics ever to hit a hockey game. You have the ability to create your own player and place your face on that player, so you can actually see your face in the game. That means even a 9 year old child can be the next Great One. Besides creating yourself, you can creat a brand new team. With this feature you have the ability to import logos and customize your team's jersey, logos, and city name. An finally there is an improved goalie camera that allows the player to watch the computer react with amazing life-like intelligence and saves.
All of these great new features, the amazing graphics and the music of the game make it a great buy. The featured music of the game is "Heavy" by Collective Soul and "Here We Go" by Templar. This game is the total package and no game will be able to match it until NHL 2002. EA Sports just continues its excellence in Video Games.
