Author's Review
I am a huge sports fan and own many sports games. I added NFL 2K2 for PS2 at Christmas, and have played it quite a bit since. The game is extremely addicting and lots of fun to play with friends.
Likes:
- The game runs very quick and smoothly unlike Madden 2003 which runs slow. If your running with the quarterback, or making a pass the game runs nice and quick, and you should have no problems with it in that aspect.
- I think another review mentioned something about the graphics being a con. In this game, I thought the graphics were quite good. It may not be the best looking game, but it sure isn't the worst. The faces on the people look very good, and I have yet to run into any errors with graphics.
- NFL2K2 has more features than NFL2K had for Dreamcast. (This is the only NFL2K series game I compare it to because it is the only other game in the series that I have.) All of the rosters are up to date. With a multitap you can play with up to 7 of your friends (makes it a total of 8 people). I find that playing with other people is much more fun and can make the game more competitive. The defensive players can make some hard hits and take the player out of the game.
Dislikes:
- The Cheerleaders in this game look like men. While you are playing look over to the sideline, either on a replay or while your running and you can see that the don't really look realistic.
- I think they need some more crowd involvement. When your team makes a few good plays in a row on a drive, or makes that huge defensive stop when your at home I think they should make it so the crowd grows louder and louder as you get closer to the endzone.
- The main downside that I find in this game is that they do not let you Challenge a play. It is a feature that is included in Madden and I really miss it in this game. I don't know if they have it in NFL2K3 or not. If not hopefully they think to add it in NFL2K4.
