Sega scores a touchdown

This game blows away every other football game ever made in every possible way. Incredible graphics and game play combined with the most realistic controls ever and you can see why this should be on every Dreamcast owners must have list.

The graphics on this are superb. When a player is hit, he really bends from the hit, no more cheap little knockdowns. Again, all the players are accurately represented here with real facial hair and tattoos. Their movements on the screen match up to what they produce in real life, so a bruiser like Jerome Bettis really does plow over opponents and a finese runner like Robert Smith needs room to strut his stuff.

The controls are simple and very easy to use. At the rookie level, it is basically the familiar set up for controls that have been used on other games in the past. Once you hit the pro level, you really have to work the buttons extra hard to make the plays. No more cheap little catches, you really have to reach for that ball and keep those legs moving for the extra yards.

The Artificial Intelligence(AI) in this game is incredible, there are no longer any cheap plays that work every time. The AI learns by a play so you may burn it once but it will not work the next time. Also, on defense make sure you have the right coverage called because a slow linebacker will get burned by a speedy receiver if you don't.

The announcers on the game are right on the mark with what is going on the field and give excellent play by play coverage.

A very nice feature of this game is the use of the VMU in multi player games for your play calling. Pick your plays off the VMU screen and your opponent no longer has an idea of what play you are calling.

As I stated earlier this is the closest way most of us are going to ever have the chance of playing in the NFL, so go out and get this today you will not be disappointed.
