This One Will Kill Ya!

This is by far my favorite Neil Simon comedy and one of the most enjoyable movies to watch. If you like murder mysteries and are very familiar with detectives such as Charlie Chan, the Thin Man, Sam Spade types, Miss Marple, Perot, and the like, you will find this film hilariously funny. It's a spoof which lampoons just about every ridiculous twist and gothic scene found in the mystery genre. It begins with a "Ten Little Indians" style dinner and the laughter will begin from the first scene to the last. If you aren't familiar with old detectives, hit the video stores and watch everything from "The Maltese Falcon" to "The Thin Man" so when you watch "Murder By Death" you'll be able to get the jokes. Even if you aren't an avid mystery buff, you'll love the comedy in this film, but understanding all the subtle jabs and allusions will allow you to truly appreciate Neil Simon at his best.
