Author's Review
I bought the Bluetooth car kit in June, and was pretty happy with the setup. One issue I had with the device, though, was the poor external speaker cable that prevented me from really using it in full duplex mode. I found it to perform very well without the external microphone, but then I had to be careful not to speak over the people I was talking to. I enjoyed using the Bluetooth car kit system and stuck with that for a while. I then finally found some time to pick up the Easydrive again, so I paired it (the Easydrive uses Bluetooth 1.1) with my Treo 650, Nokia 7610, and Orange SPV E200you can pair the Easydrive with up to 5 mobile phones. The Nokia 7610 easily had the best Bluetooth driver support, and it allowed me to use the Easydrives voice recognition ability, which uses magic words to initiate calling out in a truly hands-free mode. I had one professionally installed by Verizon Wireless contractors in my wife's Honda Civic and one in my Ford Five Hundred. Her's often does not work on inbound calls. She can her the caller, caller cannot hear her. They have been troubleshooting it, but no solution after 3 weeks. We even upgraded her RAZR firmware, but still a problem. Had mine installed for 1 week and now my microphone does not work. Stone, cold dead. Does not even hear my voice commands. Very, very disappointed. When they work, sound quality is very good. Also, the Verizon installers would not hook it up to mute the radio, as they did not want to accept responsibility for any radio problems. Unfortunately, they did not tell me they would not do that until they had installed.ords to initiate calling out in a truly hands-free mode.
