Not 25 mile range, more like 2 miles!!

I really like the way this radio looks, and it feels good in your hand. I set this radio up for use on the GRMS channels to maximize range. I am sorry to report that the 25 mile range that is advertized is more like 2-3 miles at best. It is the same as the $20 miland FRS radio's I bought at Walmart as far as range goes.
The radio is a nice feature. And the many privacy codes are outstanding and you can really block out other users so you can focus on your conversation. The rechargeable factor is nice, but it takes 14 hours to completely recharge the batteries, and then you have to take them off the charger or they will overcharge, also the red light says on all the time so you have to guess if the batterioes are fully charged or not. Hey Motorola...how about using some of that battery/charger technology that is out there and improve this?
