Epinions Better quality than most personal radios.

by  trooper_cobb,  Jan 19, 2008
Pros: Great recieve sensitivity, ability to use standard batteries.
Cons: Expensive in comparison to radios with same features.
The Bottom Line: Buy these if you have a GMRS License and need a better quality radio. If not, use inexpensive FRS radios.
Review: Motorola is known for commercial quality radios. These are not as durable but better than similar radios in the same class. After setup, they are easy to use. I'm a Ham (Amateur Radio Operator). Use of an FRS/GMRS radio is not a preferred activity, ...

Pros: 38 sub channels, clear & crisp on short range. Easy to use. Key Lock feature.
Cons: Will only take a flat clip for neck strap attachment.
Review: I have 4 - T5500R radios I use for work daily. We get an average range of 1 to 2 klms with city use. By using one of the GMRS channels with a sub channel, we experience very little interference from other users. The rechargable batteries usually ...

Epinions Not loud enough!

by  daxmaster9k,  Oct 14, 2006
Pros: Blue
Cons: Can't hear anyone well enough (and isn't that the whole point?)
Review: I have experience with several other Talkabout models, and this 5500 model isn't loud enough. I have the volume cranked all the way up and it is not nearly as easy to hear someone speaking to me as the other models I have worked with (T4900 and T5620). ...
