Motorola RAZR V9 - Reliable, Attractive
Date of Review: Sep 9, 2008
The Bottom Line: A definite recommend. Quality product, as expected from Motorola, with the latest features and technology.
I've owned this phone for 7 months, and am very pleased with it. This is my third RAZR model, and my favorite so far. The rosy brown color is very attractive, and I like the large display on the outside of the flip.
Although it was initially expensive, even with a contract renewal, it was worth it. The phone has never given me any problems; it's even been dropped on the concrete a couple times, and works just fine. The battery cover pops off easily when dropped, though.
The battery life is satisfactory; I can leave it off the charger for four or five days if I'm not using it heavily. The dial pad is smooth and the buttons are large enough to press easily without accidentally pressing the wrong one.
It's very thin; fits into a pants pocket easily, although it is a tad heavy--so if you're wearing something that isn't snug, you'll get some sag.
I liked the fact that with a micro USB adapter, I could use the same chargers from my previous RAZR. I've also hooked it up to my PC and put a couple ringtones on it that I made with Motorola Phone Tools software. Very nice sound quality and reproduction.
The photo quality is excellent, for a camera phone--just be sure to wipe the fingerprints off of the camera lens before you shoot photos. That's one of the few drawbacks--while the high polish of the flip, and the sturdy glass cover, look great, they also collect fingerprints every time you touch the phone.
I haven't used the video or MP3 capabilities, but they're definitely up to par.
Even though this phone's been on the market for several months (possibly close to a year), it's still up-to-date. The price hasn't dropped much, which is actually refreshing! I hate spending top dollar for something and then seeing it slashed by 50% the very next week.
Overall, I'd recommend this phone wholeheartedly, and will surely be purchasing more Motorola products in the future.
